RTX 2060 Super vs RTX 4060 — Which Should You Buy for 1080p Gaming in Bahrain?

Having used both cards personally — the RTX 2060 Super in one build and the RTX 4060 in another — I can give you a real-world comparison based on actual testing, not just spec sheets. Here’s what you actually need to know before deciding which one to buy.

Real-World Performance (1080p)

From my personal testing across both builds:

RTX 2060 Super (High Settings):

  • GTA V — 70 FPS
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 — 60 FPS
  • Valorant — 250 FPS

RTX 4060 (Max Settings):

  • GTA V — 100 FPS
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 — 80 FPS
  • Valorant — 300 FPS

The RTX 4060 wins on raw performance — higher FPS across the board, and at max settings vs high settings for the 2060 Super. The gap is real, not just on paper.

Power Efficiency

The RTX 4060 draws significantly less power (~115W vs ~175W), which means a lower-wattage PSU can handle it comfortably. If you’re building on a tight budget and want to save on the PSU too, the 4060 gives you that flexibility.

Which Should You Buy?

Buy the RTX 2060 Super if:

  • You’re on a strict budget and can find a good used deal
  • You already have a higher-wattage PSU
  • You’re happy with high (not max) settings at 1080p

Buy the RTX 4060 if:

  • You want max settings 1080p performance
  • You want a newer card with better driver support and future-proofing
  • You can stretch the budget slightly for better long-term value

My Verdict

For most people building a gaming PC in Bahrain today, the RTX 4060 is the better investment — better performance, lower power consumption, and newer architecture means longer relevance. The 2060 Super is still a capable card, but if the budget allows, go for the 4060.
